Responsive Services
Students and their families have access to counselors at each grade level. Counselors seek to develop individual helping relationships that focus on the students' growth and adjustment as well as problem-solving and decision-making. Counseling relationships are built on trust and respect and provide a safe, nurturing environment where students can discuss concerns in a confidential manner. Types of responsive services include:
- Individual counseling
- Consulting with parents, teachers, administrators and other helping professionals
- Participating in CHS Support Team
- Planning programs for students with disabilities
- Meeting with college representatives
- Writing letters of recommendation
- Visiting college campuses
- Consulting with employers
- Conducting one-year and five-year follow-up studies
- Publishing the CHS profile
Counselors insure that all students regardless of gender, race, or socioeconomic background are afforded equal access and equally positive guidance in making educational and life choices.
